Perfect warmup for CFAI National Squad

The CFAI national team took on Richmond upon Thames today in glorious sunshine in the shadow of Twickenham. After a frenetic start, Elms put the Colleges on their way with a low drive from 20 yards which the Richmond keeper couldn’t keep out of the bottom corner. He added a second ten minutes later when O’Sullivan picked him out following an excellent run down the left wing. Elms strong header beat the keeper and went in off the post.

Elms completed his first half hat-trick after the half hour when following a great team move Collins put through a carefully flighted pass, which Elmes controlled before calmly slotting past the advancing keeper.

The second half saw the English side come more into the game and pulled one back on the hour. A quick break down the right saw the Richmond centre forward get behind the Colleges defence and steer a low shot pass the stranded Burns.

Lynch worked hard up front for the colleges and came close before the win was sealed with 15 minutes. Niall McCabe fired home to the top corner at the back post, following a deep cross from Tom King on the right side. A perfect warm up for the International fixture versus the English Colleges tomorrow.
